4 Must-Know Siding Trends for 2025

Siding sets a critical tone for the home, contributing to curb appeal, first impressions, resale value and even the vibe of the entire streetscape. Staying up on the latest siding trends can help builders and remodelers create one-of-a-kind facades that appeal to homeowners and visitors alike.

LBM Journal explored some of the latest siding trends in its annual In Depth feature. Here’s what they found.

Remodeling Market Drives Siding Demand

Though the housing market continues to have its ups and downs, siding manufacturers remain positive, in part due to the repair and remodel market. In a survey of National Association of the Remodeling Industry members, 42% found a greater demand for contracting in remodeling work during the last two years and 57% said that the scale of the projects increased.

“Despite ongoing economic uncertainties, Westlake Royal Building Products™ remains optimistic about the siding segment’s outlook for the coming year,” Steve Booz, vice president of marketing for Westlake Royal Building Products, told the magazine. “This momentum is largely driven by the continued strength of the home improvement market, supported by rising homeowner equity and limited options to move due to higher interest rates. As a result, many homeowners are choosing to stay in place and reinvest in their properties through meaningful remodeling projects, such as siding, that improve functionality, elevate aesthetics and deliver lasting value.”

Bold Siding Colors Stay on Trend

After a few years of trending, interest in bold siding colors continues to grow, LBM Journal said.

“While bright whites and contrasting black trims dominated the market in recent years, we’re now seeing a noticeable shift toward darker blues, grays and weathered neutrals that bring sophistication and depth to a home’s exterior,” CJ Johnson, director of product and marketing for siding at Westlake Royal, said. “These hues complement a range of architectural styles and regional aesthetics, making them versatile choices for remodelers and builders alike.”

These bolder colors also are suitable for accents like entryways, gable vents and mixed-material facades.

Another approach, Johnson said, is “green drenching”—layers of greenery and earthy textures—to infuse biophilic principles into exterior spaces.

Multi-Texture Facades and Vertical Siding Trends Lead the Way

Another familiar trend is exteriors that blend different colors and textures to create visual interest,  differentiate streetscapes and provide flexibility to meet homeowner preference. Techniques include combining siding profiles like classic board-and-batten with textured shakes or integrating stone veneer accents to highlight architectural features and break up wall planes.

Within this trend, vertical siding is also gaining momentum, as are multi-textural finishes and clean-finish techniques like blind nailing.

Easy-to-Install Products

As labor challenges persist among builders, cladding options that are easy to install are of increasing importance—and manufacturers are answering the call. For instance, an abundance of eye-catching pre-finished options reduces the need for painters.

Versetta Stone is another example. Combining the look of stone with the panelized installation of traditional siding, Versetta Stone allows pros to achieve a timeless, sought-after look using a straightforward process that helps crews work faster, stay on schedule and achieve consistent results.
