FAQs
What is the key benefit of using poly-ash products over other alternatives?
Innovative Poly-Ash technology was invented to address common issues with other exterior products in the industry. It’s a product that offers a high level of dimensional stability to help reduce expansion and contraction. Its smooth or grain textures deliver cladding material that looks authentic, moisture-resistant, can be painted any color and does not require cumbersome installation techniques.
Do TruExterior products need to be primed?
TruExterior Products come with a factory-applied primer. Because TruExterior Products absorb minimal moisture, ends and field cuts do not need to be primed or sealed. TruExterior Products do require a coat of exterior-grade paint to maintain your warranty.
How effective are TruExterior products at resisting mold and mildew?
TruExterior Products do not support mold or mildew growth and do not contain a food source for mold or mildew, but mold and mildew can grow via food sources that may be on the surface of TruExterior Products, or virtually any material for that matter.
Are TruExterior products suitable for coastal areas?
TruExterior Products will achieve the same exceptional level of performance in the harshest of climates and conditions, provided the correct fasteners are used for the specific conditions. Please refer to TruExterior Installation Guidelines for fastener recommendations and always check your local code requirements.
How will paint perform on TruExterior products compared to wood?
Because TruExterior Products are virtually impervious to water, paint will have improved performance on TruExterior Products than it will on wood.
Can TruExterior products be mitered?
Yes, TruExterior® Siding and Trim products take a miter cut easily, and unlike many other trim products, fasteners can be nailed through the miter joint.
