Wainscot Cap
A wainscot cap is a decorative trim piece installed at the top edge of wainscoting, designed to provide a finished appearance and enhance the overall aesthetic of a room. It covers the exposed edge of the wainscot panels or boards, offering a clean transition between the wainscoting and the upper wall surface. Wainscot caps are available in various materials, including primed poplar and PVC, and come in different profiles to suit various design preferences.

We do offer mouldings that are specially formulated for heat bending, but not all cellular PVC trim and mouldings apply. For example, Royal S4S Trimboard is not recommended for bending, but SurEdge and Precision Cut trim can be bent into a reasonable radius.
Cellular PVC is a thermoplastic polymer, which means it becomes pliable or bendable when exposed to certain temperatures, returning to a solid state when cool. Because of its nature, some cellular PVC profiles can be reheated and reformed; however, variations in batches, profile geometry, and density or weight of the profile mean some experimentation will be required to perfect this skill.
For best results, don’t bend any cellular PVC trim greater than 6” wide. Please see the Royal Installation Handbook for detailed instructions regarding bending PVC.

Royal Trim & Mouldings should be cut with a carbide tip blade with 80 teeth or more. It is important to make the cuts quickly. We also have found that you can lightly spray the blade with cooking spray or furniture polish as a lubricant to avoid excessive build up on the blade. NOTE: Do not spray the mouldings as this will affect paint adhesion.
